She is an international educator and was lead trainer on assignments in Germany, Japan, and South Korea, where she helped the U.S. modernize computer operating systems overseas during Y2K. Rachel completed international residencies in international economic development and Mandarin Chinese in Cape Town and Singapore. Hand-picked by her organization to lead a group of delegates from Argentina on a tour of U.S. job training sites, hosted a Chinese delegation of vocational training professionals in Atlanta, oversaw billions of dollars in employment and job training contract & grant awards for the U.S. government, and in 2016 was identified as an Emerging Leader to have on your team. The journey began with Rachel's encounter with the struggles caused by NAFTA in the mid-1990s. The Global Prep Coach has come full circle by turning those NAFTA challenges into opportunities for herself and others. Why do it? We assist emerging businesses faced with challenges and the unknowns of exporting (selling products and services across international borders) through our collaborators in the Department of Commerce's Trade Division - and directly engage business owners in solutions to export successfully. We also encourage and coach college students mostly of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs)(Native American/Tribal Colleges and other MSIs) to pursue international careers to fill critical vacancies at the U.S. State Department and Commerce and in other federal and state government offices that have an international angle - and are facing a shortage of qualified diverse workers. We groom diverse talent for these organizations. In 2006, Rachel pitched an HBCU capacity-building pilot program to the U.S. Trade Representative/ITA.
